9 Und er führte ihn nach Jerusalem und stellte ihn auf die Zinne des Tempels und sprach zu ihm: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so wirf dich von hier hinab;10 denn es steht geschrieben: "Er wird seinen Engeln über dir befehlen, daß sie dich bewahren;11 und sie werden dich auf den Händen tragen, damit du nicht etwa deinen Fuß an einen Stein stoßest".12 Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Es ist gesagt: "Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht versuchen".

5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”7 Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
